Why Athletes Take Anabolic Steroids
![]() |
Why do athletes take steroids? Almost all steroid users are taking steroids because they believe it is the only way to develop muscle and strength. Further more, almost all bodybuilders are taken steroids because they want to get as much strength and size as they possibly can. In my own opinion, society today makes people think that to produce muscle and size, steroid use is mandatory. That is not the case, with hard work and determination, anything is possible, but who wants that when you can pretty much triple your size using steroids. Steroid is a drug, and like other drugs, people take them to escape from reality, and they enjoy what the drug does for them. I feel steroid is the same case. Steroid users like what the drug has done for their size and strength, and it has taken them away from the Nutritional athlete. Many readers who mearly read the various strength magazines are not fully aware that their “heroes,” who are illustrated on these pages are, more than likely, a product of anabolic-steroids. Just look at their progress. I relied on hard work, nutrition, proper training methos and rest to acquire slow, steady gains and build my physique through a process of years. Today, physique men may train for a year or two, find out about drugs and then skyrocket towards tremendous physical gains. how many physique men today were prominent a year or two ago ? If there is a drug scene in bodybuilding, why do the competitors take drugs ?This subject has been talked about for some time now in various articles and in various publications. Many conclusions have been arrived at concerning the health of the taker over a prolonged period of time and all seem to indicate that there is a very definite danger in the overall picture when taking large doses of tissue builders over a long period of time. But something else should also be admitted (even though the more intelligent thinking athletes repugnant the use of the drug) by one and all of the bodybuilding fraternity, that the only way to achieve the type of fantastic developement that we see in our top physique men today is to take the anabolic steroids. There may be one or two exceptions to this rule, but by and large this is true, and I think that by this time we are ready to admit this. There may be some “authorities” on muscle building who will swear that by hard work and proper nutrition, which includes gross quantities of protein, anyone with the proper bone structure etc. can build an equally sensational physique as the man on the steroids but they will have to show me to convince me !In today’s world, people enjoy entertainment and people want to win. Athletes are willing to do whatever it takes to win today. It’s been around since the 40’s; throw the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and now 2007. Steroids have taken sports to new levels, and it will only continue to be on the rise.It has been years that I have watched steroids take over bodybuilding, a sport that I love with all my heart. Bodybuilding is a daily commitment of practicing a healthy life style, which becomes a grounding force that promotes harmony and a strong sense of well-being.When viewing a bodybuilding contest today, I feel restless as I watch the competitors cross the stage in a posing routine that they are barely able to execute restricted by the huge appendages, which once were muscle. Modern media has promoted an image that has permeated the status in him. The human body was not built to resemble the expectations of today’s generation of bodybuilders. Society has become accustomed to seeing huge oversized muscles and veins often grotesque in nature.
It has always been my belief that size, proportion, definition and symmetry must work together. At all times, I trained for my health. I cannot comment on the types of steroids available to athletes today. Researching that topic made my skin crawl particularly when I read a news report that some steroids are laced with “joint- strengthening human growth hormonesâ€. It was difficult to conceive that the weight of those inflamed appendages compromise the very joints that support them. Meanwhile the heart, liver, kidneys and other organs continue to sustain often-irreparable damage that has led to many deaths within the bodybuilding community. How to use the steroids were learned from a training partner, trainer, or another group using the steroids, thus resulting in bad side effects, but incredible strength gains. Today, there are so many athletes on steroids that are used in all sports by both females and males. Steroids are being used in the early teens to increase performances in school sports. Athletes will do anything to achieve their goals no matter how high the risk is. What kid would give up the chance to make millions in a pro career doing what they want, but might die a bit earlier than expected? For this reason, it is hard for parents and educators to make a youth turn down steroids. Having trained with Mr. Universe, Mr. America, Mr.USA, Mr. Olympia, USA Olympic weight lifters, Pro Wrestlers, Pro Football players, Collages Football players. I have seen all kind of Cycles 6 weeks 8 week 4 months and years on for those looking to gain mass and strength, “cut” up, women cycles, all Stacking and cycles for those looking to put on lean mass. When I was in my twenties there was one partner that said at the time “Jesse why not turn Pro and take steroids, you can make a lot of money it makes my wallet fat with $150,000.00 dollars a monthâ€. I said as long as you have to take steroids in sports I would not turn Pro. Every one who knows me knows my stand on stacking Anadrol, Deca Durabolin, Dianabol, Growth Hormone, Horse Growth Hormone, Testosterone Cypionate, Equipoise, Sustanon, Parabolan, Winstrol, Anavar, Clenbuterol, Cytomel, and the rest of steroids that is I will never take them. I have seen all kinds of side effects, serious liver disease, high blood pressure, and heart disease, heart attacks, burning from the in side, and many more. I could go on all day the things I have seen and heard people in the gym tell me. However, even though anabolic steroids help build muscle, it is not the miracle drug that people tend to believe it is. If you take anabolic steroids, you aren’t going to magically gain 20 pounds of hard lean muscle; it takes a lot more than steroids alone. All so admitting you’re a bodybuilder and the next question is “do you take steroids?†Unfortunately the public’s perception of bodybuilders is that steroids are needed to build their bodies. In the quest to build muscles yesterday, many bodybuilders, especially competitors resort to steroid abuse. The problem is these bodybuilders never learn to build their bodies without the drugs. The rush to build massive muscles can only result in health hazards. Solution: Education & Publicity When the winners of top competitions like Mr. Olympia and the Arnold Classic have more classical, proportionate, non-freaky bodies then the public will be more accepting of the sport. The winners always set the standard in all endeavors, especially in a visual art form like bodybuilding. So when winners look more pleasing, bodybuilding will get more media publicity, and the sport will grow in popularity. My goal is education on how to build the classic proportionate physique. I continue to remain hopeful that the sport of bodybuilding will come full-circle, as it began so many years ago - when athletes relied upon their own physical prowess and harnessed the human spirit to become champions. “The circus has become the side show in bodybuilding competitions” P.S. How to use the steroids were learned from a training partner, trainer, or another group using the steroids, thus resulting in bad side effects, but incredible strength gains. Today, there are tons of athletes on steroids, there are used in all sports by both females and males. The majority of users are in their late teens. Steroids are being used in there teens to increase performances in school sports. Athletes will do anything to achieve their goals no matter how high the risk is. Jesse L.S.C.T. |
